Scandi Sophistication with an Ethnic twist

One of my best Christmas gifts this year was a subscription to one of my favourite magazines, Elle Decoration, Now each month my heart races a little when I hear the loud Thud as it falls from the letter box and hits the ground below. One of my all time simple pleasures is to sit with a cup of tea and turn the pages of a good home interiors magazine.

A beautiful home was featured this month, I instantly loved it, the mass use of white, mixed with natural wood and elements of nature, furs, throws and upcycled furniture pieces, rustic yet clean, busy but not cluttered.
Scandinavian sophistication but with an ethnic twist- Perfect.

Feeling a sense a familiarity As I read the article I realised that I actually follow Paulina Arcklin, a wonderful photographer and stylist, on Instagram, her feed is Gorgeous you can find it Here. She also has a lovely Blog.

Niah

Time flies by for me now in the blink of an eye. Every body said that time goes fast when you have a baby and raise children but you don't fully understand just how fast until you are experiencing it first hand.

Niah Is sixteen weeks old today.
she's fully out of the tiny new baby phase, she no longer lays quietly with her eyes closed a tiny little petite bundle with knees tucked up to her tummy and fists tightly closed.

She's getting so big and her cheeks are getting chubby, she kicks her legs, waves her arms, gurgles and shouts. She reaches out to hold my hand while I breastfeed her and stares deep in to my eyes. She smiles big and beaming a gummy smile from ear to ear. Just this week she's learnt to hold  things in her hands and is now happy to have a set nap time and evening bed time after a splash in the tub.  When I go to greet her after she wakes from her nap she's so very pleased to see me, smiling and cooing she reaches up and holds my cheeks in her tiny pudgy hands in these moments I could cry with joy I feel of being so blessed to be her Mama.

Every second with her is blessed moment every minute is a joy, the hours spent with her are my favourite hours of the day and every day that draws to a close is another added to what I know will be the best time of my life.

A Pewter Pot

Niah and I go for a walk every day, Sometimes across the fields, my boots in the mud and my beautiful girl in the sling,

And sometimes we take the track that runs along side the fields greeting the many joggers, horse riders and dog walkers as we go. I power walk in an attempt to shed my pregnancy weight and Niah stretches out in her pushchair, It's a nice balance between the two and makes each walk a different experience to the last.
On the days that we walk along the track we will often detour to have a gander in the local village charity shops.

Our home is a lovely mix of new, old, revamped and reclaimed, hand made, modern and vintage. I really like interiors to be formed in this way, it makes for a unique style.

Today's charity shop find was this, a little pewter pot.

On the way home happy with my find I called in to the farm shop to choose a  nice plant to place inside, this little Ivy was perfect.

Simple pleasures from bargain finds, and I will admit something to you now, when I'm particularly happy with a new little corner of our home, a new find or a new styled display I find myself keep coming back in to the room just to have another look :)

Have a lovely weekend.

Four From . . . ' WINTER '

The sky outside my window is a beautiful shade of light winter grey.
The House is dark and in near silence, broken only by the tapping of my fingers on the keys of my computer and if you listen ever so carefully of Niah sleeping peacefully in the next room.

Happy Friday,
Wishing you a wonderful weekend of fresh winter walks, warming cups of tea, cosy socks and blankets, nourishing food, good books, long soaks in the tub and happy times spent with the ones you love.

Four lovely images chosen from my Winter moodboard on Pinterest.

Happy New Year

Spending time today reflecting on the year that has passed, what an incredible year it was, I was pregnant and gave birth to our first born, its a year I'll never forget.

Pondering my new resolutions and setting goals for the year ahead,
feeling the energy of the masses who are doing the same with such enthusiastic intent.

It's such a special time of the year you can literally feel the anticipation in the air of the incredible chance we're given for a fresh start,
A brand new year,
A blank canvas to paint with which ever colour we choose,
A clean page to write a new chapter of our ever unfolding story.
With fresh hope, and new desire we dare to dream once more.

May 2015 bring all that you hope for . . .
and If I could hope for one thing for you, it would be for you to understand the depth of your own power, we are incredible infinite beings with so much potential, go for your dreams and make them a reality.

"Do you know what you are? You are a manuscript of a divine letter.
You are a mirror reflecting a noble face.
This universe is not outside of you.
Look inside your self, everything that you want,
You are already that."
